On this journey together
It has been a great ride raising the seed of an idea to an actual community of diverse backgrounds—DutchTechSF, the Dutch-American entrepreneurial community in Silicon Valley.
In the fall of 2022, DutchTechX got started with support from members of the Dutch entrepreneurial communities in the Netherlands and the US (founding members).

In 2015, we started organizing dinners to facilitate authentic connections among like-minded guests.
The first guests included the founders of Flexport, FLYR Labs, GitLab, and HackerOne, and a user interface designer who, for 14 years, worked alongside Steve Jobs at Apple (Bas Ording).
In the spring of 2017, we stumbled on a group of Delft University of Technology graduate students.
They would be the first of multiple groups of students to experience the pulse of Silicon Valley. Alumni continued their studies abroad, started companies, and raised funding in Silicon Valley.
That same year, we teamed up with INKEF Capital, founded by Dutch pension fund ABP, for a social event hosting entrepreneurial visitors from the Netherlands and other places.
Then Prince Constantijn of the Netherlands stopped by for a dinner with 125 guests in a winery in San Francisco.
The event was made possible by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Dutch brands and technology companies, including KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Messagebird, and VanMoof.
Following our largest dinner party, we hosted a group of women to learn from and engage with entrepreneurs, VCs, and technologists in Silicon Valley.
The program exposes you to Silicon Valley entrepreneurship and innovation in the boardrooms of category-defining companies and investment firms.

The COVID pandemic forced a rethink and we introduced a program to help entrepreneurs apply to Y Combinator.
This resulted in multiple successful applications, including the first (Dutch) woman to participate in the Silicon Valley startup program.
In 2022, we started organizing online Q&As and founders' dinners with foreign VCs in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Shortly after, DutchTechX got started.
📌 DutchTechX merges DutchTechSF (community) with the network in the Netherlands and other places. All activities are in partnership and friendship with other support organizations, initiatives, and individuals—everyone can join, and everyone can contribute.
